Under the slogan Because I Like the Sava and the Danube, organized by the Tourist Organization of Belgrade, for the seventh year in line, the BELGRADE BOAT CARNIVAL took place on June 18 - 29, 2010, in the city center and a part of Belgrade Aquatorium and the river banks section between Brankov Bridge and the Confluence of the Sava and the Danube. The whole event was a program part of the great European event The Danube Day, celebrated also in Serbia. A form part of the Belgrade Boat Carnival this year was also the Street Artist Festival - BASKERFEST (www.baskerfest.com) under participation of the best worldwide performers, dancers, pantomime artists, jongleurs, acrobats, clowns, comedians, actors, magicians and musicians.
The Seventh BELGRADE BOAT CARNIVAL, opened by the President of the Federation European Carnival Cities (FECC), Mr. Henry van der Kroon and the Tourist Organization of Belgrade (TOB) CEO, Ms. Jasna Dimitrijević, started in Belgrade streets by the Carnival procession of more than 400 local and worldwide participants and continued in the Belgrade harbor by sailing of about ten ships from all Belgrade marinas, who drove the inhabitants of Belgrade and their guests on the Sava and Danube free o charge during the evening. Due to the high water level, the Carnival program was reduced this year. Thus, at the large stage in the harbor, the participants were carnival groups, but the sailing of decorated boats, and the participation of sailing boat staff, kayaks and Jet Ski acrobats were missing. In spite of this, the idea to affirm Belgrade by the BOAT CARNIVAL as a city on two rivers and to contribute to the sailing tourism development, enrich the event program and show the river environment protection importance, succeeded completely.
