THERMANA LAŠKO

The core of Laško is the attractive tourist/accommodation complex Thermana Laško, one of the most perfect ones in this part of Europe. Located by the Savinja River, as a unique transparent Entity, it fits the natural environment. Within the Thermana Laško, there are the four star Hotel Zdravilišče Laško, the new four star Wellness Park Hotel Laško and the three star Hotel Hum.

The Thermal Center includes 2,200 sq. m. of water areas of the indoor and outdoor swimming pools with the pleasant freshness of the natural and healthy thermal water, heated to 30 - 34°C. It is pointed out by a glorious glass cupola and various water attractions (waves, three whirlpools above the pool, Kneipp's Way, children's water entertainment pool, recreation and massage pool, fast river, water slides).

In the center of Slovenia, 85 km far from Ljubljana and 10 km from Celje, by the lower stream of the Savinja River, there is a pleasant town Laško, famous for thermal wells, fabulous surroundings and brewery. The thermal mineral water wells of Laško were used already by the ancient Romans and in 1854, the first thermal bath plant was constructed there, a modern summer resort of the Austro-Hungarian Tsar Franz Joseph I. Laško, comfortably situated on 228 m above the sea level, has got a rich cultural and historical heritage. It was first mentioned already in 1227. The picturesque old town core below the slope of the hill Hum, is a real tourist attraction, completed by numerous churches, castles and the Carthusian Monastery.

THE FOOD AND BEER ROUTES

Visited throughout the year, Laško has the most guests during the famous "Beer and Flowers" festival, held annually in July. This is the greatest festival in Slovenia, when much beer is drunk and people celebrate with music. The guests of Thermana Laško have a permanently organized visit to the famous Laško Brewery, where they, with a 2.5 Euro ticket, may look at the brewery plants, as well as taste this favorite drink. In the Thermana Laško restaurants, healthy and very tasteful food is served and the specialties are beef Carpaccio with Tartuffe, lean beef in sauces, hams and various other pastries.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS

Thermana Laško organize sightseeing in the town and the surroundings both in winter and summer for their guests, arriving either in regular arrangements or weekend packages, including two half boards with Wellness and swimming pool. It includes also recreation in the tennis and basketball grounds, fishing in the Savinja, entertainment in the restaurants and night clubs. Thermana Laško has got also a modern congress center for about 800 people. In 2009, opening of the Congress Hotel and Congress Center with nine Congress Halls for the total of 760 persons is scheduled, as well.
