With a suitcase Worldwide

Pitztal is one of the most beautiful Alpine valleys of Tyrol to the south from the town Imst, named by a small river flowing along the whole valley and entering the Inn river. This valley, 40 km long, consists of four towns, Arzl, Wenns, Jerzens and St.Leonhard, having, as regarding tourism, 8,700 beds and make 1.2 million nights at the annual level. The tourist most interesting part of the valley - Upper Pitztal, has found its nest under the highest Tyrol mountain top (the second highest one in the whole Austria)  - Wildspitze (3,744 m), under which there is Pitztaler Gletscher , the highest of the five Tyrol glaciers.
After the end of the World War II, the Alpine mountain houses started rising first with the first cable railways, followed by the tunnel construction, which enables the exit to the Pitztal Glacier (2,840 m) in 7 minutes. From there, one rises by the highest Austrian cable railway to the view point at the height of 3,440 m above the sea level, from which, depending upon the weather conditions, there is a clear sight even to the Adriatic Sea.

The height above the sea level, the glacier soil and the new Snowmaker, having arrived from Israel, make the Ski Resort Pitztal Glacier (1,640 - 3,440 m) be filled by skiers already since middle September and the season lasts as long as to the middle May. The season in the Ski Resort Rifflsee (1,640 - 2,800 m) begins in November. Thus, these two resorts together provide the skiers with 51 km of tracks (11 blue, 32 red and 8 black ones), at the total area of 85 hectares.
The sunny ski resort near Jerzens - Hochzeiger (1,450 - 2,450 m) has got another 40 km of tracks and 1,000 m altitude difference. The tracks are medium difficult, the black ones and a FIS track. A 5 km long, illuminated snowboarding track begins from the Tanzalm restaurant.
Tens of snow stumpers operate 24 hours a day, snow guns may cover the whole resort by snow in 10 days.
Depending upon the choice, one ski pass - Pitz Regio Card may include all four ski resorts of Pitztal: Glacier, Hochzeiger, Rifflsee, as well as the ski grounds above Imst. The price includes also the transfers between the resorts and hotels.
Before the already announced airline tour Belgrade - Innsbruck (60 km far from Pitztal) is opened, the skiers may reach this famous Tyrol center by bus or by car.
Since the Serbian tourism journalists visited this destination upon invitation of the Austrian Business Group Pitztaler Hotels, the Ski Resort and Tourist Board Pitztal, after everything they had seen and experienced, they concluded the one way travel of about 1,100 km, although very hard, was worth every passed kilometer.
